Bukalapak has partnered with School of Technopreneur Nusantara (SOTN) to provide scholarships for a number of female students. The scholarship was officially launched with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by Monica Chua, Head of Public Relations Bureau at Bukalapak, and Daniel Runtuwene, Chairman of the School of Technopreneur Nusantara Foundation. Aligned with Bukalapak's focus on ESG pillars (Environmental, Social, and Governmental), the scholarship aims to support gender equality by providing equal access to opportunities. Monica Chua stated that with the increasing digital era, technology plays a vital role in providing convenience and solutions for the community. Through this scholarship, Bukalapak aims to expand opportunities for female talents in the technology field to further develop their skills and become leaders in the technology industry. "Our collaboration with SOTN is aimed at strengthening and increasing the participation of women in tech, particularly in the world of technology," said Monica, as reported by Tekno Liputan6.com in Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Furthermore, the government is actively working to enhance domestic digital talent. "We want to be part of this movement, and one of our focuses is to provide scholarships to students, especially those in SOTN," she added. Daniel Runtuwene, Chairman of the School of Technopreneur Nusantara Foundation, appreciated Bukalapak's initiative in providing scholarships to their students at SOTN. According to Daniel, SOTN is committed to continually fostering the birth of the best talents in the technology industry. "Through this scholarship support, we hope to provide the right means and motivate our students to enter the technology industry and become future technology leaders," he said. During the event, a Women in Tech session was also held, where one of the female leaders in the technology field, Wijayawati Yip, VP of Program Management & Strategic Project at Bukalapak, shared knowledge about organizational transformation through a growth mindset and scaled agile with all participants and guests in attendance. "The company's diversity has grown stronger over time. With women in leadership roles in technology, we can advance in various aspects," said Wijayawati. "Through empowerment, we want to show that women can indeed succeed and have a career in the technology world," she concluded.
